The Archaeological Museum of Olympia

The Archaeological Museum of Olympia, one of the most important museums in Greece, is located in Ancient Olympia. It explores the long history of one of the most famous sanctuaries of antiquity which was dedicated to Zeus, the father of the gods and people, and which was the cradle of the Olympic Games.

Foloi Oak Forest

Foloi Oak Forest is in the Foloi Plateau, on the southern foothills of the Erymanthos Mountains. It is 25 km from Ancient Olympia, and is one of the most impressive and best known forest areas in the mountains of Elis and indeed in the whole of Greece in general. Its vast, broad-leaved oak trees are uniquely beautiful and unrivaled throughout Europe.

The waterfalls of Nemouta

Next to the gorge of Erymanthos, on the borders of the prefectures of Ilia and Arcadia, you will find the eight waterfalls in the Haratsari ravine. The smallest of these is 15 metres high, while the highest is 25 meters. The amazingly beautiful path begins at the village of Nemouta in the Municipality of Ancient Olympia and is one of the most beautiful routes in the prefecture of Elis.

The Environmental Museum of Foloi

The Environmental Museum of Foloi is located in a forest area in Loutsa. It is housed in a wooden building and the surrounding area has been landscaped with traditional materials. It has a library, a room where ecology and mythology exhibitionsare held and a 50-seat room with modern infrastructure for lectures and audiovisual material.
